Since its initial launch of Actuator Sensor interface in 1993, Siemens have consistently been the British and European market leader. This has been achieved by providing customers with innovative products and services, always keeping one step ahead of the competition.

In 2001, Siemens were the first company to launch AS-i Safety at Work in the UK and continue to develop advanced products for this ever-expanding technology. At ASi-tech 2003, Siemens will show a new range of AS-i laser scanners, IP20 Safe I/O modules and advance details of a High Feature Safety Monitor, which will be launched at this year's Hanover Fair.

In the field of safety, Siemens will also be launching its Safety Technology & Engineering Partnership (STEP). This offers customers a complete life-cycle safety engineering service from one supplier and covers risk assessment, validation, continued maintenance and system revalidation. Hans-Ulrich Schliefer (MD of Siemens A&D UK) says "I am convinced that this is what our customers will require in the future, in order to meet increasingly demanding safety legislation. Siemens and its partners can offer this today."
